OUR CUSTOMIZED MODELS IN A LIMITED EDITION

To worthily celebrate a prestigious product such as the “Mexico” style glove, the undisputed interpreter of some of the most unforgettable pages in the history of Italian and world boxing, classic but revolutionary at the same time, LEONE decided to create a series of personalized PUNCHER gloves and used for important international professional events. Currently they are available in an extremely limited number of pieces for all fans and true connoisseurs.

Several boxers have decided to join our project and together with them customized gloves with horsehair padding have been designed that would take up and enhance their characteristics and their colors, thanks to their contribution their gloves are currently on sale in limited editions.

EL revÓlver

EL REVÓLVER is the glove created on the occasion of the EBU European Weights Welterweight Championship, held in Bilbao (Spain) on March 30th 2019, between Kerman Lejarraga and David Avanesyan.

Its colors reflect the flag of Bilbao, a city in northern Spain, the largest of the Basque country; since 1511, in fact, the city wears these colors on its own flag.

El Revólver is a glove completely in full grain cowhide, with a “Mexico” style fit. Designed for professional athletes, it stands out for its tapered shape and multi-layer padding containing horsehair.

FLORENTIA is the glove created for the WBC Light Heavyweight International Championship, held in Florence on April 26, 2019, between Fabio Turchi and Sami Enbom. As the name suggests, this glove takes its inspiration from the city of Florence, the symbol of which is the famous red lily, represented on the back of the glove.The quote by Dante Alighieri extracted from the Divine Comedy that can be read on the palms of the glove pays homage to the Florentine city and its poetic-literary tradition.

Milano

MILANO is the glove designed on the occasion of the Milan gala for the IBF supermedium title, on June 29, 2019, between Daniele "Toretto" Scardina and Alessandro "Highlander" Goddi.

It takes its inspiration from the city of Milan whose map is represented on the palm together with the greficization of the Milan Cathedral. The symbol and flag of the city, a red cross on a white background, are instead visible on the back.

SPQR

SPQR was created on the occasion of the Rome boxing night which took place in Rome in July 2019 with protagonists Emiliano Marsili, Mirko Natalizi and Serhiy Demchenko.

It takes its inspiration from the city of Rome. SPQR, as all Romans know, is the Latin acronym for Status Popolusque Romanorum - the senate and the Roman people, and can be seen on the palm and back. It is further enhanced by the label that mentions the 7 kings of Rome.

A tribute to Rome, the eternal city whose symbols stand out on the palm, at the height of the sleeve.

Sardinia is a tribute to the much loved island: on the palm and thumb the reproduction of the flag of the four moors is clearly visible while on the back stands the wind rose.

Strengthened by its unparalleled experience, LEONE is proud to offer this exclusive glove, the result of careful technical study and countless tests, to offer boxers the best possible product in terms of quality of materials, comfort and hand protection.

Designed exclusively for professional matches, the PUNCHER is made of an external, elastic and durable buffalo leather coating, while inside the horsehair alternates with two layers of polyurethane foam and sponge. This particular "multi-layer" structure of the padding has the purpose of absorbing the vibrations of each stroke to the maximum, thus safeguarding the athlete's hand, without however compromising the "hardness" and therefore the effectiveness of his techniques.

Precisely because they are made exclusively for meetings, PUNCHER gloves are currently available only in the 8 and 10 oz version. with laces closure.

THE BENEFITS OF HORSEHAIR PADDING

Horsehair gloves have always been preferred by the greatest champions all over the world because they allow you to hit with maximum effectiveness, allowing the athlete to fully discharge the power of his shots. Because of their technical peculiarity, they are gloves designed for professionals, who know how to hit but who also know how to defend themselves and are perfectly trained to fight in the best psycho-physical conditions.

By "horsehair padding" we mean a padding created from horsehair obtained from the horse's tail and mane. The particular processing inside the glove makes it very elastic and resilient over time, while ensuring a significant air exchange. Horsehair is also hygroscopic, i.e. it is able to absorb the natural perspiration of the hand without becoming wet.

Another feature that has always been appreciated is its durability and robustness. Finally, let's not forget that, together with the other layers inserted in the padding of the glove, it contributes decisively to creating an optimal fit by adapting perfectly with its filaments to the athlete's hand.
