HOW TO CLEAN YOUR BOXING GLOVES
Taking care of the hygiene of your gloves, avoiding the formation of germs and bacteria, is essential to guarantee their durability. Furthermore, following good habits avoids the formation of bad smells and annoying irritation in the hands and arms.
Here are some simple rules to keep gloves as dry and clean as possible:
- Always keep your hands clean.
- Always wear wraps or undergloves.
- Carry your gloves in an openwork bag (for example our MeshBag). If you don't have one, don't forget the gloves in the bag after training.
- Avoid sharing gloves with other fighters.
- When you are not using your gloves, insert a Scottex cardboard roll instead of your hand or simply crumpled sheets of newspaper.
If all this is not enough, also follow one of these tips:
- Spray inside an antibacterial spray for fabrics or shoes (eg Febreze, Oust, Bama Shoe Fresch, etc ...).
- Wipe with a damp cloth and baking soda / talcum powder.
- Insert for a few hours a sage leaf and a sprig of lavender, two plants that eliminate odors effectively.
- Insert a lemon / orange / grapefruit zest as an additional remedy to combat bad smells.
- Put the boxing gloves in the freezer overnight in a plastic bag, leaving them to dry naturally in the open air.
Warnings! Never put your gloves in the dryer and never immerse them in water. Do not leave them in the freezer for too long and do not keep them in contact with chemicals too much.
These hygiene rules are also valid for helmets, shin guards and MMA and bag gloves. Always remember to let them dry from sweat after training by removing them from the bag and placing them outdoors if possible.
